Crochet isn't limited to scarves and sweaters. A fresh trend from California showcases its versatility in everyday wear.
Schuyler Ellers, owner of the Etsy shop Lord von Schmitt, has launched a vibrant collection of hand-knitted shorts and pants made entirely from recycled materials.

Using old Afghan blankets from the 1960s, Ellers transforms these vintage textiles into stylish shorts for men (and women) with just scissors and a sewing machine.

Would you dare to step out in these bold, eco-friendly pieces? Or do they spark ideas for your own upcycled fashion projects? Share your thoughts in the comments.

"Afghan blankets are true folk art, handmade by artisans across America since the 1960s and even before. Using scissors and a sewing machine, I transform these old objects into wearable garments," says the designer.
