Tips for choosing a winter coat for children

With winter just around the corner, it's time for parents to think about winter coats for the kids. Perhaps more difficult than finding our own perfect winter coat, there is one for our kids. Because while you think of warm, children think of 'hip'. So, how do you find a winter jacket that both you and your child will be happy with? Here we list some tips for choosing both a boys winter coat and a girls winter coat.

1. Water resistance
Children like to play outside, even when it rains and snows. So it is important that their jacket should be waterproof. How do you know for sure? Look for a waterproof rating on the jacket label. Beware of anything "water resistant" as this is not an indication of waterproof material.

2. The size
We all know, kids grow up fast and when we invest in a winter coat, we want it to last all season. But watch out! Don't buy one that's too big because the bigger the jacket, the less heat it will retain.

3. The zipper Do you have trouble opening the zipper of your child's jacket? If so, it's a good indication that they need a different coat. Children often have to dress and undress themselves. Make sure the jacket has an easy zipper that is of good quality. It can make all the difference.

4. Material
Material is a good indicator of quality and durability. So much is made of cheap fabric. For example, sometimes it says that something is made of 'wool', when it only has a small percentage of wool, and the rest is made of a different material. Make sure you buy something of good quality.

5. Comfort
Just like clothing, a jacket should be comfortable. The jacket should not be too tight because thick sweaters are also worn underneath. Check that the wrist straps are adjustable so that the gloves can be slipped under. Make sure the collar is soft and high enough to cover the neck. A jacket with a hood is a must if you only choose a jacket this season.
