No bellows for your barbecue? They're incredibly handy for reigniting embers or flames.
Skip the purchase—craft one yourself with plastic bottles.
Plastic bottles? Believe it. Grab two large ones and follow these proven steps from years of DIY outdoor projects.
1. Select two large plastic bottles, one slightly wider than the other.
2. Cut the bottom off one bottle using a cutter knife.
3. Sand the base of the second bottle for a smooth fit inside the first.
4. Insert the sanded bottle into the bottomless one.
5. Remove the cap from the outer (bottomless) bottle and secure it on the inner bottle.
Your DIY bellows is ready! Push and pull the inner bottle to blast air onto the embers.
Ideal for barbecues, camping, and winter chimney fires.
Cylindrical bottles yield the best results.
A smart recycling win for those extra plastic bottles.
Alternative: Cut bottoms off both bottles, as demonstrated in this video.
