Planning a Christmas, birthday, or special occasion gift but short on wrapping paper? Even if it seems too small no matter the placement, I've got you covered.
With years of holiday wrapping experience, I swear by the diagonal wrapping technique. It's simple, foolproof, and delivers pro results every time. See the demonstration above.
Contents1. Position your gift diagonally in the center of the wrapping paper. Pull the corners up to confirm they reach the box corners, as shown.
2. Lift the wrapping paper corner closest to you.
3. Drape it over the box and secure with tape.
4. Grab a wrapping paper corner from the side of the box.
5. Fold it inward to align perfectly with the box corner:
6. Secure with a small piece of Scotch tape.
7. Repeat on the other side: fold inward for a flat, aligned edge.
8. For the last side, tuck the paper inward so the outer flap rises straight against the box corner.
9. Fold the final corner the same way.
10. Fold up the remaining side and apply the final piece of tape.
Success! Your gift is wrapped beautifully, even with limited paper.
Easy, quick, and efficient – this trick rescues botched cuts and saves paper long-term.
